Campsites along the river are spacious and private. Facility offers power hookups as well as dispersed camping options. Towering trees and year-round trout fishing make this an explorer’s paradise. Take your rod to Spillway Creak and fish the cool headwaters of the Lower Mountain Fork River. Park at Friend’s Trail for a short hike to picturesque pools and falls at sunset. Fern campground has excellent overnight sites, or try the day use area near Hickory Campground if you’re just passing through.
